2024-25 AUGUST AUDITIONS

How to Submit Online:

  1. Record yourself performing in a quiet, undisturbed, place where you are comfortable

  2. Upload your video onto your Google Drive or YouTube account

  3. Email the link from your Google Drive account or YouTube to Cassie Davis at manager@lyso.org by 11:59 pm on May 12th

 

Make sure to change permissions to "Anyone with the link" for the directors ability to view it​

 

NOTES FOR ALL AUDITIONS:

  • Students will be evaluated on tone, intonation, rhythm, technique, interpretation, and scale proficiency.

  • Students are invited to arrive early to warm-up and check in with the orchestra manager.

  • Neither the scales nor the solo must be memorized.

  • Auditions are closed to parents and the public.

  • Orchestra chair placements last the full Fall/Spring season.

  • Orchestra chair placements may not be appealed.

PHILHARMONIC Orchestra Audition Requirements:

 

Solo:  Select a Class A, B, or C solo from the Wisconsin State Music Association Festival list OR select a piece of similar difficulty.  Perform 3 minutes of the selected piece.  Feel free to confirm a piece at manager@lyso.org.

***Percussionists: Please prepare a Class A, B, or C solo on Timpani OR Snare Drum.

 

Scales:  Please find your instrument below and prepare the scales at a comfortable tempo. 

WINDS AND BRASS ONLY: Please prepare a chromatic scale in your full range (not the instruments).

ITALIANO Orchestra Audition Requirements:

Solo:  Select a Class A or B solo from the Wisconsin State Music Association Festival list OR select a piece of similar difficulty.  You only need to play 3 minutes of a piece.  Feel free to confirm a piece at manager@lyso.org.

Scales:  Please find your instrument below and prepare the scales at a comfortable tempo, including a chromatic scale in the musicians full range
