Membership Fees

  • A deposit of $35 is required to hold a spot in either orchestra. All members must pay the deposit, even if receiving scholarship money or if participating in the fundraiser. The deadline to pay this deposit will be given to you.
  • An additional payment must be paid on or by the first rehearsal date of each semester.
  • If membership fees are paid in full by the first rehearsal you can take a 10% discount (discounts are not applicable to students receiving scholarship money).
  • Membership fees are: $400 per year for the Italiano Orchestra; $350 for the Philharmonic String Orchestra.

Payment options for the Italiano Orchestra:
Membership fees: $400.00 per year or $200.00 per semester

Option 1 – pay full year’s fees

Pay $360 on or by the first rehearsal ($400 – 10% discount)

Or, with an already-paid $35 deposit, pay $325 on or by the first rehearsal ($360 - $35)

Option 2 – pay one semester’s fees

Pay $200 on or by the first rehearsal

Or, with an already-paid $35 deposit, pay $165 on or by the first rehearsal

Option 3 – pay one semester’s fees AND participate in fundraiser (see the Fundraisers page)

Pay $100 on or by the first rehearsal (this is in addition to the $35 deposit)

Pay the remainder after fundraising profits have been deducted from remaining fees

Payment options for the Philharmonic String Orchestra:
Membership fees: $350.00 per year or $175.00 per semester

Option 1 – pay full year’s fees

Pay $315 on or by the first rehearsal ($350 – 10% discount)

Or, with an already-paid $35 deposit, pay $280 on or by the first rehearsal ($315 - $35)

Option 2 – pay one semester’s fees

Pay $175 on or by the first rehearsal

Or, with an already-paid $35 deposit, pay $140 on or by the first rehearsal

Option 3 – pay one semester’s fees AND participate in fundraiser  (see the Fundraisers page)

Pay $75 on or by the first rehearsal (this is in addition to the $35 deposit)

Pay the remainder after fundraising profits have been deducted from remaining fees


  • Membership fees are nonrefundable except in the case of extreme illness with doctor’s excuse.

  • This is an all-inclusive fee - there are no additional fees for the audition, folders, music, etc.

  • A late fee of $15.00 will be charged on any payments not received by the above dates.

Family Discount:

Those families with more than one member in the LYSO organization will receive a $25 discount for each additional member after one member is paid in full.

Where the Money Goes:

The money is used to purchase equipment, music, to print programs, tickets and posters; to rent performance halls and rehearsal space; to pay salaries; to hire professional music coaches and teachers; and much, much more.
